Sustainable Development International, Inc. was originally founded in 1997 as Development Informatics, Inc. and implemented projects related to the digital transformation of developing countries.  It developed an IT Sector strategy for Egypt and conducted workforce development assessments in 7 countries including India, Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia, Djibouti and Cambodia.  

As global warming became the most significant global challenge, the decision was made in 2008,to refocus the company on environmental sustainability, renewable energy, and climate change.  Sustainable Development International now provides its experience with bilateral donors, foundations and multilateral development banks to enable climate change experts and centers of excellence to participate in global initiatives.
