UNGA 77: Read, Watch, and Explore the Event
The 77th Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 77) has officially wrapped up after two weeks of debate and discussion. This year’s theme was “A watershed moment: transformative solutions to interlocking challenges”, and highlighted the crises most affecting the globe today – COVID-19, climate change, and conflict.
In his address before the General Debate on September 20, UN Secretary General António Guterres did not sugar-coat our current global state of affairs by reporting that, “A cost-of-living crisis is raging. Trust is crumbling. Inequalities are exploding. Our planet is burning. People are hurting… We have a duty to act. And yet we are gridlocked in colossal global dysfunction”.
